Clare was recently interviewed by Hampshire Life regarding her experience of working with me . Here’s what she said:
“Nicola has really helped me to understand what does and doesn’t suit me and why – in terms of colour, shape, style and fit. She has also taught me how to combine these factors to make a range of great outfits from a limited number of items. In other words, she’s taught me not only know what to wear, but how to wear it. This has made me a much more confident and cost-effective shopper.
Appearance is a sensitive and complex topic for many people, myself included, but Nicola’s perceptive and thoughtful approach has always put me at ease. She’s encouraged me to try new things, but never pushed me to do anything I didn’t feel ready for or comfortable with. She’s always been very pragmatic, tailoring her advice to my lifestyle, age and budget. Another reason it’s so easy to trust her is that she always looks absolutely fantastic!”

“What an amazing session. Definitely a steep learning curve. I have had a quick look round M & S and had a ball! It was great to be released from the pressure of trying to find something that I liked and instead to be guided by a set of objective rules. It meant that I tried on many clothes which I wouldn’t normally choose and I could confidently walk away from things that were not right! Very liberating! Thank so much for your patience and expertise”.
“I thought I must drop you a line telling you of the success in packing my suitcase to Menorca recently. Back last April I attended your workshop on ‘how not to take too much on hols’ and I carried your advice out to the letter. The light jacket I wore to the airport and on the plane was then placed on a hanger and not worn again until I travelled back (no other long sleeves were taken). The one pair of heeled sandals were again worn to the airport and out in the evenings. I cut all my toiletries down to small bottles or bought from the local shop. I mixed and matched outfits. It was brilliant, thank you.
I shall probably, early next year, book an appointment with you to update my colour swatches”.
“Thank you so much for the makeover last week. You’ve made me look at myself in a whole new way.! I feel so much more positive and confident about making the right choices now. Straight after our session, I was so inspired I hit the shops! I bought a couple of nice tops (verbena and the coral you recommended) as well as a gorgeous dress from Phase Eight in a style I would never normally have even tried on. I’ve also taken your advice on the side rather than middle parting and so many people have commented on how good it looks – such a minor adjustment, but it really does make a difference.”
“Thank you so much for such a brilliant morning. Mum and I had a wonderful time and I can’t think of a better birthday present. After my husband’s initial comment about “why are you wearing so much make up?” (adding that it’s a compliment that he thinks I don’t need to wear any make up!) he said “actually you look really nice in that lipstick, it really suits you”!!! Also, I had 3 friends come up to me and say how pretty / radiant I was looking!! And that was just with my make up and my “tomato red” scarf”
“I had so many cringe-worthy wardrobe disasters before my colour consultation…and bagfuls of one-off bits bought in the sales on a whim, with nothing that really went with them. After doing a colour analysis consultation with Nicola and her capsule wardrobe workshop, I feel a lot more comfortable in the clothes I am wearing. And in the future I will never buy useless items which get left unworn, taking up unnecessary space in my wardrobe. Highly recommended!”
“I felt I must email you to let you know that I went to a wedding on Saturday, using my new products. I had so many comments about how lovely my make-up looked, (never had compliments like that before) and my daughter even thought that I’d had it professionally done!!!! “Just wanted to say thanks again for the capsule wardrobe workshop.
The attached photo is of my total packing for a 3 week holiday to Spain. I have planned a different outfit for each and everyday including evenings. I also haven’t made any reckless pre- holiday clothes purchases this year either.
You may recognise the scarf on top of the left hand pile- which is for the airport!! Feeling rather smug!
